A small group of Arctic Terns have been hawking over the Ribbleton pool here for several days now. Their fast, agile, and unpredictable flight makes them difficult subjects for photography.

A high degree of luck is certainly required in flight photography! Before this bird was lost from sight, I only managed 5 shots, 4 of which were quite useless. I've never had one in range before or since!
